24th October: International Day of Climate Action

The 24th October was the “International Day of Climate Action” ??, introduced within the context of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

It is an occasion to reflect and raise awareness on the impact that each of us can have on the health of the beautiful planet ??.

To celebrate it, we would like to share this very touching speech inspired by the “pale blue dot”, an iconic photograph of Earth taken by NASA’s Voyager 1 spacecraft on February 14, 1990, at the request of astronomer Carl Sagan.

From a distance of about 3.7 billion miles, Earth appears as a tiny, pale dot of light ?, a perspective that Carl Sagan used to highlight the fragility of our planet and the need for humanity to treat each other and the environment with respect and care. ?? ??

“It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. To me, it underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the pale blue dot, the only home we've ever known”.

Very inspiring, very true. The perspective we often miss in our day-to-day life and that fuels our passion for change, cohesion and reminds us of our journey towards a common destination ??.
